Historical Re-Enactment of the Battle of Waterloo, Belgium
When planning this trip, Vivienne realized that the timing was perfect to fit in a visit to see the re-enactment of the Battle of Waterloo. In 2008, we managed to take in the re-enactment of the american civil war battle of Gettyburg, and it was amazing! 15,000 re-enactors took part in various skirmishes and battles over the 3-day event. This whetted our appetite to see the re-enactment of the Battle of Waterloo, and thus, when the opportunity came up this year, we revised our original plans to accommodate this event. Have a look at the website below. You will see some marvelous costumes, something that Vivienne will have a great deal of pleasure to photograph when we are there!
